“Don’t let the cost of pursuing higher education intimidate you. You can find a way to pay for it.”
About Vincent
Vincent is on the way to achieving his dream of “working in collaboration with other creatives” in his own design company.
He strongly recommends filling out an Education and Career Action Plan (ECAP), and then being willing to update and revise it as you learn more about yourself and the many options for educational and career opportunities.
“It’s cool to see your plan on paper. But be willing to change it because that’s a good thing, not a bad thing,”he said.
Vincent believes strongly that if you pursue an education on a path you love, you’ll be more successful. “If you love music, major in it. I hate when people try to push you into what they think is practical for you,” he says. “Be yourself.”
Vincent received a full ride scholarship to Cornish College of the Arts. Upon completing his FAFSA, Vincent learned he qualified for a Federal Student Loan. Vincent is using the loan to cover living expenses, like meals, that are not covered by the scholarship. That was all he needed to finish covering the cost of his design education.
He is the third in a family of four brothers, and the first to attend college. “I hope I’m setting an example for my younger brother to set his sights higher,” Vincent said.
