“Some advice I give freshmen is to be involved, network with people, take every opportunity that presents itself and be open minded.”
About Sabra
Sabra, born in Nairobi, Kenya, is the youngest of 10 children.
Her dream is to one day own her own business, just like her parents.
“Business is something that my family has always done,” Sabra said. “My dad was a business owner and my mom also had a small business. It’s something that I’ve always been passionate about.”
Sabra was able to pursue her dreams because of a Pell Grant and a scholarship from College Success Arizona.
In addition, Sabra worked two jobs to help put herself through college – one as a community assistant at ASU and one as an office assistant at the University of Arizona medical campus in downtown Phoenix.
“Yes, I know I’m a traitor,” said Sabra. “I absolutely love working at the University of Arizona, but I don’t talk about it when I’m on ASU grounds.”
